\"chicken_meal\"Wondering what to cook tonight? \u00a0Nice and warm on a rainy day like today! This is simple, great with rice, and very tasty. \u00a0Although Grandma uses 1 clove of garlic – I may have used 4, haha. \u00a0Delicious!<\/p>\n

\"chicken_prep\"I used quite a large saute pan (12″) and bought a family pack of chicken thighs. \u00a0So keeping this in mind, you may need to half the recipe!<\/p>\n

Chicken Cacciatore<\/h3>\n
    \n
  • 2 1\/2 pounds chicken parts<\/li>\n
  • 2 tablespoons shortening<\/li>\n
  • 1 can tomato soup<\/li>\n
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 cup chopped onions<\/li>\n
  • 2 large cloves of garlic (Grandma uses 1)<\/li>\n
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano<\/li>\n
  • 1\/4 teaspoon salt<\/li>\n
  • 1\/2 medium green pepper (cut in strips) (optional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    1. In Skillet, brown chicken in shortening.\u00a0 <\/span>Pour off fat.<\/li>\n
    2. Add remaining ingredients except Green pepper.<\/li>\n
    3. Cover – cook over low heat for 30 minutes.<\/li>\n
    4. Add green pepper & cook 15 more minutes.<\/li>\n
    5. Stir now & then.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
