Confetti Ham Salad
Another easy recipe! If you are noticing a trend, you’re right. I would imagine having 5-8 rambunctious boys afoot would mean quick preparations!!
I brought this salad to an Easter gathering :). The celery seed brings a unique flavour that some loved and some did not care for. If you are part of the latter- you could easily leave it out or substitute it for your common spice you use in coleslaw or creamy dressings :). Even an Epicure dip would taste fantastic!
It takes about 450g of Ham; so about 1/2 of those little pre-cooked hams you can buy. And 1/2 of a head of cabbage! So double the recipe or plan another meal with your leftover cabbage and ham!
If I hadn’t chopped the cabbage directly in half (slaps forehead) I’d use it to make Grandma’s cabbage rolls! (Or Kohlrouladen, as her recipe states)… Ah well! Let this be a note for others 🙂
Here is her recipe card and the printable recipe.
